…a Brief Note

Posted by The Fatty

HARVARD – Jimmy “Chitwood” Galvan captured his third Fat Bastard Championship, along with Eric “It’s Good to Be” King and Lonnie “Snoop Drunky Drunk” Rucker, who claimed his second title, in leading Eatin’ Ain’t Cheatin to victory in the championship game, 7-5, overcoming an MVP performance from Ryan “Where You” Breen along with Ben “Spicolli” Taylor of ‘Tween the Bizzos.
Dustin and Elliot Nichols’ squad, How’s Your Wife and My Kids?, defeated We Shaved Our Balls for This? to take the Baxter Bowl crown.
Breen was the home run champion with 11 and also the Big Stick Award Winner. Chitwood was, once again, the Golden Arm winner, while Susan “Zanner” Sheppard won the Best Hands Award.
Other Than That, Mrs. Lincoln, How Was the Play? was voted Best Team Name.
Much more info, including scores, are available on the 2007 Tournament page. EDIT: A photo slide show is now available on the MEDIA page, with over 350 images, including every team and player.
Congratulations to all participants on another stellar chapter in the Fat Bastard fable.

GRAND RAPIDS – 2006 champions, Brian & Jason Braat are fired up and ready to defend their title. Kurly Top is reportedly sporting a new mane this year and captain, Tank, has been out all week shopping for a new wife-beater shirt in time for the weekend.
“I’d been combing the Goodwill stores all week,” commented Brian, “until I discovered the Internet and wifebeatershirt.com. Now, I can shop in the comfort of my own home and choose just the right fashions for me!”
After lighting the victory cigar last year, the Braaters hope their fresh look will be enough to carry them deep into the bracket once again, aided by a favorable draw – if they can get by their tough first-round matchup with the Nichols Brothers.

A Little Indoor Action

Posted by The Fatty

GREENVILLE – The Fatties are back in business as a stellar group of nimcompoops opened the 2006 season with a little indoor spring training at the Pavillion, a new sports complex in Greenville.
Rings, EZ-E, The Kid AG, The Paralyzer, Chuck Weiler, Dut and The Dutch Boy were all on hand.
A little b.p. and some some throwing were followed by two exhibition games, the first going extra innings. Rings, Garcia, Dutch Boy and Dut each connected on taters to break in the wallbangers.
As it was the inaugural wiffle event at this facility, part of the process was to help lay out fields and determine rules for a planned winter league for next year. This will also include the long awaited Winter Fiasco, likely to be held next February. Details will follow this fall.
In addition, this may have marked the final Fatty appearance for The Paralyzer, who is allegedly moving to Arizona next month. We suspect he’ll be back as soon as he realizes you only get five cents for your returnables in most other states.
