“The Senator” Robert J. Byrne
(2000/2002-2005) Committee 2002-2003, Good Hands Award 2000, Best Team Name 2002/2004, Raffle Coordinator 2003-2005, Mad Scramble Champ 2003-2006.
Robert Jack participated in the very first Fat Bastard game and made, what many still consider, the greatest single defensive play ever that day with a diving one handed spear of a line drive. He’s been a stallwart from the beginning and helped create the original Fatty with his participation in the Bad Beer World Series of 1999. The Senator has helped out in numerous roles over the years from securing sponsorships and raffle prizes to making sure all the Blatz finds a home before the end of the day. He, and brother Scott, are always one of the toughest opponents in the tourney and usually manage to lose out to the eventual champions by a run at some point in the day. They’ve also won multiple “Best Team Name Awards” and spawned a Harvard Tavern tradition with a B-double-E-double-R-U-N.
The Senator’s reelection campaign includes the banning of all switch hitting and at least one knuckleball per plate appearance. Whether you know him as W-w-w-obby, one sick pervert, the Senator or Robert Jack, Byrne is now also known as a Hall of Famer.

T. Corbin “Moop” Owens
(2001-2002/2004-2005) Committee 2004-2005, Play-by-Play 2002/2004.
Everyone knows the Moop…or at least they’ve heard him. As the original play-by-play man for the championship game, he’s had a “flair” for the mic along with a bottle or two. Owens has matched up with several teammates over the years and finished everywhere from a Baxter Bowl runner up to a #1 ranked contender. Always a tough game, he’ll get in an opponents head with a steady diet of trash talk and game savvy.
As a contributor, he’s been tireless in assisting with tournament preparations, set up, clean up and managed to help recruit the first female Fatty back in 2002.
Also known as T-Co or Sergeant Owens, The Moop and was also the inspiration for our early support of veteran’s causes as one of the first Fat Bastards to serve our country “somewhere in the Middle East” and will be back in country as the first Hall of Famer in Iraq for the 2006 campaign. Congratulations and Semper Fi!
