Susan “Zanner” Sheppard

Through no fault of our own, the Hall of Fame just became better looking.
Zanner joins the Hall as the first female to: be an on-the-field player, win a game, earn an on-the-field award, win a championship, and the first Fatty overall to kiss a Moop (thank goodness). She’s been a fierce competitor since she attended the tournament as a spectator back in 2001 at the old school grounds and said, “Hey! I can do that!”
In 2005, she was the inspiration behind the Fatties’ support for the Family Readiness Group and she’s been the rock behind fellow Hall of Famer, Sgt. Owens, during his multiple trips abroad on government-sponsored tourism.
She’s been a great help during tournament preparations and her teams yearly uniform selections remains one of the most anticipated moments of the annual first pitch.
Zanner garnered a huge margin of votes from all categories, sweeping the fan vote, hall vote and committee vote by wide margins. She’s known as Zanner, Miss Sheppard and “just plain cute,” but you’ll now have to address her as a Hall of Famer.
